RWA's® 26th Annual National Conference
Atlanta Georgia was the location for the 26th Annual Romance Writer’s Conference. Jacqui and Britani both attended, taking an all day gun class on one day and visiting historical landmarks such as the grave of Gone With the Wind author, Margaret Mitchell on another. On Friday, the girls spent the afternoon at the Martin Luther King Historical Site. It was a wonderful conference with lots of work, plenty of things to do and some good fun with old friends.
“Atlanta was a great city,” says Jacqui. “The people were just fantastic. If I had to pick somewhere else to live, Atlanta would definitelyly be at the top of my list.”

The Jacoby Black Belt Test
The Black Belt Test at USA Tae Kwon Do Center, where the Jacoby family attends martial arts classes, is a grueling eighteen hours event starting at six p.m. on a Friday evening and going until noon on Saturday. The participants and testers are not allowed to sleep and only allowed one five minute break for every hour. The last three hours of the testing, when the student’s endurance has been stretched to the max, is spent breaking boards, sparring and breaking bricks. This May, in 2006, Bryce and Larry Jacoby, both earned their Second Degree Black Belts.

20th Anniversary Vow Renewal
One thing that is known in the Jacoby household is that Mom loves the ships of old: The Titanic, the Andrea Doria, The Britannic. And, of course, the one that is still afloat: The RMS Queen Mary.
When it came time to make plans to celebrate their 20th Anniversary, Jacqui and her husband, Larry, decided to do something special: renew our wedding vows. What better place to do then a ship that held so much history and romance?

RWA's® 23rd Annual National Conference
In 2003, RWA’s® 23rd Annual National Conference was in New York. This meant Jacqui not only had to go alone, but she had to get on one of those large, metal objects that leave the ground. “Flying ... it’s got to be one of the most unnatural things the human race has every come up with. RWA's® 22nd Annual National Conference
RWA's® 22nd Annual National Conference was in Denver, Colorado in 2002. Author Margaret Chittenden said once that “Writers never take vacations. They take research trips ...” and since Jacqui happened to be working on a western historical at the time and Lincoln, New Mexico (think of the movie “Young Guns”) was not too far out of the way, what harm could it do to just take a minor, three day detour?
