Hi Everyone,
It’s hard to believe time keeps on flying by as fast as it does. With each passing day and each passing month, I look back over the writing goals I set out for myself last December and marvel at how much is getting done.
There always seems to be an article needing to be researched and always a book to be written. There are appointments to keep and classes to teach. It’s a whirlwind of activity coming out of this cozy home office. And I love my office and the work I do. It’s an office where the door is always open and the family is always welcome.
I still love that quote by Stephen King. It’s a mantra for me, to remind me of the important things in life. “Writing isn’t about making money, getting famous, getting dates, getting laid or making friends. In the end, it’s about enriching the lives of those who will read your work and enriching your own life as well. It’s about getting up, getting well and getting over. It’s about getting happy.”
I love my work, yes. But in this house, there is always the sound of someone doing something: playing the drums, having friends over, a video game or movie on the TV. The writing gets done, but so does the family.
Since you’re here, have look around. You can check out who’s talking on the Writer to Writer. We’ve put this series on hold for a little while, but there is still some of authors cataloged in the archives, authors such as Stella Cameron, Suzanne Brockman and Denise Domning. Play a game or cruise the albums. Whatever you do, have fun with it ... that is after all what it’s all about!!
