THE CALHOUN WOMEN
by Nora Roberts
A couple years ago I caught a break. I had severe bronchitis and was restricted to the couch for seven days. Wow. Thank goodness for Nora Roberts. Her series The Calhoun Women had been sitting on my shelf for months and now here I was, bored out of my mind and driving everyone around me nuts.
The Calhoun Women, though originally released as four separate novels was, at the moment, sitting in my hands as one giant re-release. In that week, I was able to read all the books and stay sane.
The four books are about four very different sisters all living in one house; and the four men who come into their lives and sweep them off their feet. But what sets this series of books apart is the secondary stories which run through all the novels: a ghost who still watches over them; an ancestor whose own love story turned into a tragedy; a lost treasure, buried somewhere in the house and a villain willing to hang out through the whole series to get it.
The Calhoun Women is a great read for anyone and can probably be enjoyed even more if you aren’t restricted to the couch!!
